**The [municipality of Rantasalmi](https://www.rantasalmi.fi/palvelut/maaseutupalvelut/) hosts the rural services of the municipalities of Joroinen, Juva, Sulkava and Rantasalmi.** The sector produces agricultural administration services (e.g. the processing of agricultural subsidies and agricultural damage inspections) for the contracting municipalities in accordance with the agreement between the municipalities.

The cooperation area has 622 active farms (2021), of which 150 are in Joroinen. There are approximately 6,700 hectares of cultivated field in Joroinen.
