Summer Job Voucher
The Municipality of Joroinen continues to aim at supporting young people’s self-directed search for summer jobs.
The purpose of the summer job voucher is to encourage young people to seek summer work independently and actively, and to encourage employers to hire young people for summer jobs.
The value of the summer job voucher is 250 euros and it is intended to cover part of the employee’s wage costs for the employer.
With the summer job voucher, a young person born in 2008–2012 and living in Joroinen can seek summer work, for example from a company, association or organisation that has a valid business ID.
The employer does not have to be from Joroinen, but the workplace must be located in Joroinen.
A young person can apply for only one summer job voucher, which can be used for one summer job during the summer.
The application period for summer job vouchers runs until 31 May 2026.
APPLY FOR A SUMMER JOB VOUCHER
Conditions for receiving the summer job voucher:
- The young person was born in 2008–2012
- The young person lives in Joroinen and is officially a Joroinen-resident pupil or student
- The summer job voucher has been applied for through the electronic form by the deadline
Conditions for granting the support:
- The employee is a pupil or student born in 2008–2012 and living in Joroinen
- The employee has applied for the summer job voucher from the Municipality of Joroinen by the deadline
- The employer has a valid business ID and the place of work is located in Joroinen
- The wage paid for the summer is at least 500 euros
- A written employment contract has been made for the employment relationship. The contract must include the guardian’s consent if the employee is under 15 years of age
- The summer work has been carried out between 1 May and 30 September 2026
- The employer applies for the summer employment support with a separate payment application from the Municipality of Joroinen by the deadline
Instructions for the young person:
- Familiarise yourself with the conditions for receiving the summer job voucher
- Fill in the summer job voucher application using the electronic form if you meet the required conditions
- The summer job voucher will be sent to you by email
- You can receive only one summer job voucher, which you can use for only one summer job during the summer
- Seek summer work from a company / association operating in Joroinen. Tell the employer that you have a summer job voucher, with which the employer will receive a 250 € summer employment support for hiring you.
- Make an employment contract with the employer
- If you are under 15 years of age, your employment contract must include the guardian’s consent
- Tell the employer that, as a condition for receiving the summer employment support, the wage must be at least 500 euros for the summer work period
- Agree with the employer on the summer work tasks, schedules, pay and important practices
- Working period 1 May – 30 September 2026
- Start your summer job according to the employment contract and carry it out carefully and with a positive attitude. A summer employee with an active approach and attitude will surely be hired again!
- The employer pays your wage for the summer work period. The summer employment support is paid to the employer afterwards, following a separate payment application and reporting. This requires no action from you when the matters above are in order.
PAYMENT APPLICATION FOR THE EMPLOYER
The summer employment support application will be updated during summer 2026.
The final deadline for submitting payment applications is 15 November 2026.
Note to employers: The summer employment support granted by the municipality is de minimis aid.
