A key task of the technical services is to manage and maintain the municipality’s property assets so that the value and usability of the properties are preserved.

The Municipality of Joroinen has residential, administrative and industrial properties totalling about 46,000 m² / 160,000 m³. The property unit is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the properties and plots owned by the municipality. Upkeep plays an important role in, among other things, the indoor air quality of premises and in reducing energy consumption.

Property maintenance includes property upkeep and the maintenance of technical systems, the repair of faulty targets, cleaning, waste management and the maintenance of outdoor areas. Upkeep involves preserving the properties of a building by either renewing or repairing faulty parts.

Cleaning services are responsible for cleaning the municipality’s properties — schools, the library, the municipal office and others. Maintaining a sufficient level of cleanliness keeps surface materials in good condition, maintains air quality and creates comfort, safety and a presentable appearance. Cleaning services also help to prevent the spread of infections and maintain the hygiene level set for different activities.
