The key task of technical services is to manage and maintain the municipality’s property assets so that the value and usability of the properties are preserved.

The municipality of Joroinen has residential, administrative and industrial properties totalling approximately 46 000 m² / 160 000 m³. The property unit is responsible for the care and upkeep of the properties and plots owned by the municipality. Upkeep plays an important role in, among other things, the indoor air quality of the premises and in reducing energy consumption.

Property care includes building maintenance and the upkeep of technical systems, the repair of faulty items, cleaning, waste management and the care of outdoor areas. Maintenance means preserving the characteristics of a property either by replacing or by repairing faulty parts.

Cleaning services are responsible for cleaning the municipality’s properties — schools, the library, the municipal office and others. Maintaining a sufficient level of cleanliness keeps surface materials in good condition, maintains air quality and creates comfort, safety and a presentable appearance. Cleaning services also help to prevent the spread of infections and maintain the level of hygiene set for the various activities.
