Stray animals
Under the Animal Welfare Act, the municipality must arrange temporary care within its area for dogs and cats found at large, as well as for other similar small companion and hobby animals.
The temporary care of stray animals (dogs, cats and other small pets) in the area of the Municipality of Joroinen is provided by the Sepsis stray animal home.

Stray animal statistics
Under Section 26 of the Animal Welfare Act that entered into force in 2024, the municipality must compile and publish annual statistics on stray animals taken into care.
During 2025, one (1) dog and one (1) cat have been taken into care in Joroinen.
