Stray animals
Under the Animal Welfare Act, the municipality is responsible for arranging temporary care for stray dogs and cats, as well as other similar small companion and hobby animals found in its area.

Stray animal statistics
Under Section 26 of the Animal Welfare Act, which entered into force in 2024, the municipality must compile and publish annual statistics on stray animals taken into custody.
In Joroinen, one (1) dog and one (1) cat have been taken into custody during 2025.
