Committees
The committees handle the tasks of the various administrative sectors of the Municipality of Joroinen. The municipal council elects the members of the committees as well as a personal deputy member for each member.
Committee members are chosen primarily from among the councillors and deputy councillors, and secondarily from among the persons who stood as candidates in the municipal elections.

Education and Culture Committee
The remit of the Education and Culture Committee includes early childhood education, basic education, upper secondary school, the library, as well as youth, sports and cultural services and the Karhulahti museum, which previously belonged to the remit of the Leisure Committee.

Audit Committee
The Audit Committee prepares the matters concerning the audit of administration and finances to be decided by the council, and assesses whether the operational and financial objectives set by the council have been achieved in the municipality. It is responsible for coordinating the audit of the municipality and its subsidiaries, and oversees the correctness of decisions and actions and the realisation of residents’ interests.

The auditor of the Municipality of Joroinen is BDO Audiator Oy. The responsible auditor is Taina Törrönen.
Central Election Committee
The task of the Central Election Committee is to organise general elections in the Municipality of Joroinen. General elections mean elections in which the right to vote is universal.
The following general nationwide elections are held in Finland:
- Parliamentary elections every four years
- County and municipal elections every four years
- Presidential election every six years
- European Parliament elections every five years
The tasks of the Central Election Committee include, among other things, providing information about elections, preparing advance voting, preparing institutional and home voting, preparing election day voting, training election officials and providing information on the preliminary vote count. In municipal elections, the committee is additionally responsible for processing candidate applications, compiling the combined list of candidates, the verification count, and confirming and publishing the election result.

Council for the Elderly and Disabled
The Council for the Elderly and Disabled is a cooperation body of the Municipality of Joroinen and the ageing population, people with disabilities and their relatives in Joroinen, as well as the elderly-care operators active in the area and the pensioners’, elderly and disability organisations.
The tasks of the council:
- Participates in assessing the wellbeing, health, functional capacity and independent coping of the ageing population and people with disabilities, in cooperation with other bodies.
- Participates in planning services that promote the health, wellbeing and independent coping of the elderly and people with disabilities, and monitors and assesses the realisation of these services.
- Promotes the opportunity of the ageing population and people with disabilities to take part in the planning, preparation and monitoring of services that affect their living conditions.
- Takes a stand and issues statements on matters that affect the living conditions and services of the elderly population and people with disabilities.
- Draws up its own action plan and annual report.

Central Savo Environmental Committee (joint committee)
Joroinen is part of the Central Savo Environmental Committee, which is a joint body of the municipalities of Heinävesi, Joroinen and Leppävirta and the towns of Pieksämäki and Varkaus. The committee’s remit includes environmental protection, health supervision and veterinary care.
