Health supervision
The health supervision services for the municipality of Joroinen are produced by the Central Savo Environmental Services, a joint unit of the municipalities of Heinävesi, Joroinen and Leppävirta and the towns of Pieksämäki and Varkaus.
The tasks of health supervision include, among others, food control, monitoring the quality of household and bathing waters, condition monitoring of public premises, inspections of dwellings when a health hazard is suspected, and supervision under the Tobacco Act and of nicotine products.
When to contact the health inspector?
Contact the health inspector, for example, in the following situations:
- You suspect you have got food poisoning.
- You want to complain about the quality of foodstuffs or packaging labelling, or about a company that handles foodstuffs.
- You are establishing a new food premises or the operator in a food premises is changing.
- You are planning to alter or renovate food premises.
- You need advice or guidance in drawing up an in-house control plan.
- You suspect the quality of well water.
- You are establishing a new beauty salon, tattoo or piercing premises, gym, accommodation premises or other activity under Section 13 of the Health Protection Act.
- You suspect that moisture damage to a dwelling or another factor is causing a health hazard.
- You want information about a pest insect found in food or in a dwelling.
