Rural services office

The Municipality of Rantasalmi hosts the rural services for the municipalities of Joroinen, Juva, Sulkava and Rantasalmi. The sector provides agricultural administration services (including processing of agricultural subsidies and agricultural damage inspections) to the contracting municipalities in accordance with an intermunicipal agreement.

In the joint operations area there are 622 active farms (2021), of which 150 are in Joroinen. Cultivated agricultural land in Joroinen totals approximately 6,700 hectares.
