Karhulahti Local Heritage Museum
Karhulahti local heritage museum is located approx. 4 km from Joroinen’s Kirkonkylä, right next to Kartanogolf, in the Kotkatharju area.
The museum is furnished in the style of a 1920s farming family’s home.
The museum area includes a main building, the oldest parts of which were built in the 1820s, and a stable, which is the oldest building on the property (from the late 1700s), a storehouse/woodshed/cattle kitchen, a cowshed, a storehouse, Rauhala, a smithy, a smoke sauna and a barn. Joroinen’s first post office was established right here in Karhulahti in 1802.
A farming museum whose history can be traced back to the 1500s. The museum also features an exhibition of old maps. In the museum’s yard you can say hello to chickens and sheep.
