Early childhood education plan
Early childhood education in Joroinen is guided by the municipality’s early childhood education plan. In addition, a personal early childhood education plan is drawn up for each child.
An individual early childhood education plan, the child’s ECEC plan, is drawn up for each child. Its purpose is to support the child’s overall wellbeing. Guardians also take part in preparing the plan.
The child’s ECEC plan is an agreement drawn up jointly by the early childhood education staff and the guardians during an ECEC discussion, setting out how educators should act to promote the child’s individual growth, learning and wellbeing. An interpreter is used during the ECEC discussion if needed.
The ECEC plan is drawn up as soon as staff have become sufficiently acquainted with the child, but no later than three months after the child starts in early childhood education. After that, the plan is drawn up in the autumn and reviewed in the spring, or more often if needed.
Guardians take part in planning, implementing and evaluating early childhood education activities. Each unit has a “wish tree” on the wall where guardians can note their own or their children’s wishes. At the start of each operating period, guardians are asked for their wishes regarding activities, such as joint events. During the year, guardians can evaluate, for example, the atmosphere and the premises of the early childhood education unit.

Varda
The Early Childhood Education Information Resource (Varda) collects data on children in early childhood education and their guardians, on units, on early childhood education staff, and on support provided in early childhood education. Varda was introduced in stages between 1 January 2019 and 1 September 2020. The recording of data in Varda is governed by the Act on Early Childhood Education and Care (540/2018). Data stored in Varda can be used in both municipal and national development and decision-making. The information resource is maintained by the Finnish National Agency for Education.

Every child has the right to safe, high-quality early childhood education. If you are dissatisfied with the service or care you have received, it is best to first contact the staff of the early childhood education unit or the Early childhood education manager. The party responsible for the activity has a duty to correct any shortcomings. In addition, situations that have caused dissatisfaction may involve misunderstandings that are most quickly resolved through discussion.
A guardian may submit a written remark, addressed to the director of the early childhood education unit or the Early childhood education manager.
Once a response has been given to the remark, it cannot be appealed. If a guardian is not satisfied with the response received to the remark, or suspects that an authority has acted incorrectly or unlawfully, they can file a complaint with the Finnish Licensing and Supervisory Authority.
