Early childhood education

Early childhood education plan

Early childhood education in Joroinen is guided by the municipality’s early childhood education plan. In addition, an individual early childhood education plan is drawn up for each child.

An individual early childhood education plan, the child’s vasu, is drawn up for each child, the purpose of which is to support the child’s comprehensive wellbeing. Guardians also take part in drawing up the vasu.

The child’s vasu is an agreement drawn up jointly by the early childhood education staff and the guardians in the vasu discussion on how educators should act in order to promote the child’s individual growth, learning and wellbeing. If necessary, an interpreter is used as support in the vasu discussion.

The vasu is drawn up as soon as the staff have become sufficiently acquainted with the child, but no later than three months after the start of early childhood education. Subsequently, the vasu is drawn up in autumn and assessed in spring, more often if necessary.

Guardians take part in the planning, implementation and assessment of early childhood education activities. Each unit has a wish tree on the wall, where guardians can write down their own or their children’s wishes. At the beginning of the operating period, guardians are asked for wishes for the activities, for example joint events. During the year, guardians can assess, for example, the atmosphere, the premises of the early childhood education unit, and so on.
