Applying and fees

A place in early childhood education must be applied for four months before the start of early childhood education. The customer fee for early childhood education is determined by the family’s income, the size of the family and the extent of early childhood education.

If the need for early childhood education arises from employment or studies and the start time of the need cannot be anticipated, a place must be applied for as soon as possible, no later than two weeks before the child needs early childhood education.

When can you apply for an early childhood education place?

You can apply for early childhood education all year round. In March there is an intensified application period for children starting early childhood education at the beginning of the operating year.

How do you apply for a place?

Joroinen early childhood education uses an electronic service. Guardians identify themselves in the programme with their own banking or identification codes. The application for a pupil’s morning activity place is also made from the same place.

An early childhood education relationship valid until further notice can be terminated electronically or by e-mail to sisko.turunen@joroinen.fi.

Customer fees

A monthly fee is set for early childhood education, the amount of which is affected by the family’s income, the size of the family and the extent of early childhood education. The fees are determined in accordance with the Act on Client Fees in Early Childhood Education and Care (1503/2016) and the decisions of the education board.

The income statement can be made electronically through the link in the early childhood education decision or with a paper income statement form. If the income statement has not been received by the deadline, the highest fee prescribed by law is set. The family may also accept the charging of the highest fee without making an income statement.

If the Suomi.fi service is in use, the decision on the customer fee is received electronically. Otherwise, the decision is sent by post.

Invoicing

The municipality of Joroinen uses hour-based invoicing. Families can choose the number of hours they need per month, and the early childhood education customer fee is determined by the reserved hour limit. Customer fees are invoiced monthly in arrears.

Following up on accumulated hours

Guardians can view the accumulated hours in the electronic service. If the hours used during the month exceed the number of reserved hours by more than two hours, a fee is charged according to the next fee category.
