Day-care centres

The day-care centres of the Municipality of Joroinen provide early childhood education on weekdays, and when necessary also shift care during evenings, nights and weekends.

Opening hours and shift care

All children have a subjective right to participate in early childhood education according to the child’s needs, within the normal opening hours of the early childhood education unit (6.30–17).

Shift care

Shift care means the care of a child on weekdays between 18.00 and 5.30, as well as care provided at weekends. The basis for arranging shift care is that both guardians need care for their child during the above-mentioned times due to work or study.

Night and weekend care

Night and weekend care is mainly purchased from the City of Varkaus. If the City of Varkaus is unable to sell the care, night and weekend care is arranged by the Municipality of Joroinen in another way. Morning care begins at the earliest at 5.30 and evening care ends at the latest at 22.

If a child needs shift care temporarily at another time, the matter can be discussed with the early childhood education manager.
