Day-care centres
The daycare centres of Joroinen Municipality provide early childhood education on weekdays, and when needed, also shift care during evenings, nights, and weekends.
Opening hours and shift care
All children have a subjective right to participate in early childhood education according to the child’s need, within the normal opening hours of the early childhood education unit (6:30 a.m.–5 p.m.).
Shift care
Shift care means caring for a child on weekdays between 6 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., as well as care arranged on weekends. Shift care is arranged on the basis that both guardians need care for their child during the aforementioned times due to work or study.
Morning care starts at the earliest at 5:30 a.m. and evening care ends at the latest at 10 p.m. Morning, evening, and weekend care are mainly arranged at the child’s own early childhood education unit. Night care is mainly purchased from the City of Varkaus.
If a child temporarily needs shift care at another time, this can be discussed with the early childhood education manager.
