Day-care centres

The day-care centres of the Municipality of Joroinen provide early childhood education and care on weekdays and, when needed, also round-the-clock care in the evenings, at night and at weekends.

Opening hours and round-the-clock care

Every child has a subjective right to take part in early childhood education and care according to the child’s need, within the normal opening hours of the early childhood education unit (6.30–17).

Round-the-clock care

Round-the-clock care means care for a child on weekdays between 18.00 and 5.30 as well as care arranged at weekends. Round-the-clock care is arranged on the grounds that both guardians need care for their child at the above-mentioned times because of work or study.

Morning care begins at 5.30 at the earliest and evening care ends at 22 at the latest. Morning, evening and weekend care is arranged mainly in the child’s own early childhood education unit. Night care is mainly purchased from the City of Varkaus.

If a child temporarily needs round-the-clock care at another time, this can be discussed with the early childhood education manager.
